Intel Core i7-4790 details and performance | Hardlimit Benchmark Central
The Core i7-4790 is a cpu manufactured by Intel released on May 2014. This model is based on Haswell architecture which is known as fourth-generation core too. It uses 22nm Tri-Gate FinFET (non-planar, 3D) technology. It includes fourth arithmetic logic unit (ALU) and third address generation unit (AGU). This generation is able to run Advanced Vector Extensions 2 (AVX2) instruction set among BMI1, BMI2, ABM and FMA3. At this time Intel used new sockets: LGA 1150 for desktops and BGA1364 for the mobile CPUs.This model runs at 3600 MHz
as base frequency but it can reach up to 4000 Mhz under some conditions with a thermal design power of 84 W. About its cache memory, this CPU has 32+32 kB level 1 cache, 256kB of level 2 cache and 8192kB of level 3 cache.
If we talk about optimized software, in its highest mode (mode III optimized for AVX2), the monothread score is 46226 and the multithread score is 200526 points.
