Intel Core i5-2300 details and performance | Hardlimit Benchmark Central

Core i5-2300

Description
The Core i5-2300 is a cpu manufactured by Intel released on May 2011. This model is based on Sandy Bridge architecture which codename was originally Gesher. The development began in 2005 and four years later, the first Sandy Bridge CPU was presented. The most prominent features are Intel Turbo Boost 2.0, AES encryption and SHA-1 hashing acceleration, Advanced Vector Extensions (AVX) 256-bit instruction set and the ability to have up to 8 physical cores or 16 logical cores through Hyper-Threading.

This model runs at 2800 MHz as base frequency but it can reach up to 3100 Mhz under some conditions with a thermal design power of 95 W. About its cache memory, this CPU has 32+32 kB level 1 cache, 256kB of level 2 cache and 6144kB of level 3 cache.

The performance score in monothread tasks in mode 0 (non-optimized software) of the Core i5-2300 is 17643 while its multithread score in the same mode is 53467 points. If we talk about optimized software, in its highest mode (mode II optimized for AVX), the monothread score is 24682 and the multithread score is 80030 points.

There are some CPU models pretty similar to this one like the Intel Core i5-2520M , the Intel Core i5-7200U and the Intel Core i5-2400 amongst others. To know the complete list and how similar are they, please go down on this page.
